EARS

Mice, camels, lambs and goats are many of the other animals that lend themselves to arbitrary ear exaggeration just for the sake of my enjoyment. All too often, a mouse, an elephant or even a racoon can just be that until their ears become a shape and size that is unexpected. In my world of clay, an animal is just an animal until the unexpected happens to their presentation. Taking an ear which is so important to their survival and highlighting it with size, shape or color is part of my signature. The clay always lends itself to this presentation and surprises me. We will see flips, extra length and width and often textures to draw the eye to the exageration of the animal’s most important asset.
